Phyllis Palleschi

Phyllis Palleschi

Strategic Account Manager @ NetScout Systems

Her success in the world of corporate enterprise and her personal business philosophy can be traced back to the lessons she learned working directly with customers and assisting in the operation of her family’s wholesale and retail fruit and vegetable business in Queens, New York.  It was there she learned to respect, serve and especially listen to customers. Working summers and weekends with her family helped her understand and respect the value of hard work. This foundation allowed her to quickly become a successful and recognized professional in the highly competitive northeast New York Metro technology market. In this market she gained her expertise and the ability to work on complex projects for some of the most respected Fortune 500 and 100 companies. Phyllis has superior communication skills and her expertise in network and application performance monitoring, telecommunications, UC, session management and high performance network systems has led her to succeed in meeting and exceeding sales targets. She has been recognized for her sales skills and success on many occasions.
Phyllis Palleschi is a graduate of the Boston College Carroll School of Management. She was recruited by Nortel and remained there until a series of mergers and acquisitions brought her first to Wiltel and then to Williams Communications Solutions and NextiraOne. In September, 2005 she was recruited back to Nortel where she served as Global Accounts Manager until March of 2010 when Nortel Metro Ethernet Business was acquired by The Ciena Corporation.  At Ciena, a global supplier of telecommunications networking equipment software and services, Phyllis worked as a Strategic Account Manager. In January 2013 Phyllis moved on to Sonus where she ran the Northeast region of their enterprise business until 2015.  She is currently with Netscout a leading provider of business assurance, a powerful combination of service assurance, cybersecurity and business intelligence solutions. She is Strategic Account Manager covering the Global financials and has made the prestigious president club for the last 2 out of the 3 years.
Phyllis served on the Long Island Elite board for 12 years. A founder of the organization, she was named “Member of the Year” in 2012 in recognition of her charity and mentoring activities. She is the recipient of the “40 Under 40” Award from the Long Island Business News. She resides with her husband, Edward, and their four children in East Rockaway, NY.

Marissa Schuchat

Marissa Schuchat

Operations Specialist, Digital and Technical Innovation @ StoryCorps

Marissa is a recent career-changer and relative newcomer to the tech industry.  She initially pursued a career in the travel industry, after having obtained her BA in philosophy from James Madison University.  She went back to school to obtain a Computer Science degree from LIU Brooklyn and now feels she is on the right career path.  As a student at LIU, she worked internships in web development, IT support, and Product Management in the nonprofit, education, and enterprise software sectors, respectively. In her final semester, she led the team that won the BE.IN Hack Brooklyn Innovation Challenge for their Wi-Move sensor.

Marissa successfully transitioned into full-time employment at StoryCorps, where she now works as a Digital Operations Specialist. In this role, she acts as the utility infielder for the digital team, handling web development, troubleshooting, and QA of StoryCorps’ app, tools, and websites, as well as coordinating releases and launches of both internal and external systems.  She spoke on a panel at the Grace Hopper conference earlier this year and is eager to share what she has learned in the tech industry thus far.
