Who We Are
We are 600+ Women in Tech and male allies from varied backgrounds across Long Island. From newbies starting out to advanced application architects, our network is expansive. We invite professional women in all levels of their careers, students interested in a technical or computing career and all genders in tech who support diversity to join our group.
What We Do
Why We Do It
You don’t have to trek into NYC to network with technology professionals, find a mentor, get career help or learn a new technical skill. LI Women in Tech brings all of that and more to you right here on Long Island. We provide a safe space for all women whether they’re just starting out in their careers or have been here for decades. We work to amplify the work you’re doing, help you make necessary connections and keep you engaged in your career while staying close to home.
Our Mission:
Long Island Women in Tech aims to increase the number of women in technology roles on Long Island by providing a supportive community, mentorship, career development and education to women at all levels of their careers.

Mentoring
Find a mentor, sign up to be a mentor, or ask the group for key advice along the way.

Join monthly local and online training meet ups to keep ahead of the curve on the latest technology and your career.
Career Support
Get resume help, guidance on building your social brand, leadership tips, and more. Members from a variety of backgrounds are available to help you define your career and take it to the next level.
Community Engagement
Help build tech interest on Long Island by volunteering in schools, libraries, colleges/universities, and with other non-profit community programs.
Safe Space
We foster a safe space for you to try something new, test out your ideas, share your concerns and get advice. This is a no judgement zone.

Stefana Muller
Founder & Organizer
Stefana founded LI Women in Tech in 2015 after realizing her network of other women in technology on Long Island was slim to none. Over the past 5 years, Stefana has grown the group from 5 members to over 600 and brought high-quality networking events and webinars to the techie ladies of Long Island. Stefana represents our group through her many volunteer activities in the community bringing computer science to children from pre-K through High School. By day, Stefana is Senior Product Manager at 2nd Watch, Inc.

Jean Hannon
Director of Events
Jean leads event planning at Long Island Women in Tech securing dynamic speakers from Long Island and New York based companies to share the latest technology trends with our members. As the Founder and President of The Pivot Group, Inc., Jean has helped direct global programs and business transformations integrating technology, people and process on Long Island for over 20 years.

Lee'Ann Burgess
Director of Social Media
Lee’Ann heads up our social media presence at Long Island Women in Tech. She is the founder of Social Vibe Marketing providing social media, web marketing and web development services to companies across the Tri-State area. Lee’Ann has a background in data analytics, cyber security, business strategy & development, getting her start in web development building niche eCommerce sites.

LaShana Breland
Director of Member Engagement
Shana heads up our member engagement at Long Island Women in Tech structuring member activities and meet ups. As one of the first volunteers in our organization, Shana kicked off our social media presence and helps support our new members through communications. By day, Shana is a Salesforce Administrator & Front End Developer at Kelly Services. She’s a tea enthusiast and loves working on her personal side projects.

Cathy Conlon
Treasurer
Cathy is the Treasurer of Long Island Women in Tech and came to know the organization when she was interviewed for their podcast series. She brings her experience as a FinTech executive and longtime diversity champion and mentor to share with our members. Cathy heads Corporate Issuer Strategy and Product Management for Broadridge Financial Solutions, a Long Island-based S&P 500 company.

Vicky Cianci
Volunteer
Vicky helps manage the Long Island Women in Tech Slack channel and has jumped in to support us with a variety of tasks from event management to ordering SWAG. By day, Vicky applies her Type A organization magic as a Project Management Analyst with experience in research & analysis.

Gillian Newton
Volunteer, Website Administrator
Gillian helps manage the Long Island Women in Tech website and she’s always jumping in to support our technical needs. By day she is the Founder of Newton Consulting where she brings her experience of software development, IT operations, business analysis and app development to her customers.

Vandana Adulkar
Volunteer
Vandana is a Software Engineer. She enjoys creating software at Erwin Inc, a data governance company. Empower, enrich, and contribute are the core values that drive her endeavors. She has expressed these values through portals such as creating software, leading holistic well-being workshops, music, and animation. LI Women in Tech deeply resonates with her values. She is eager to be helpful and contribute towards enriching group experience.

Kathy Ziet
Volunteer
Kathy is a life long learner and interested in advocating for more women in technology. She supports our team through her photography skills and by helping out during events and sessions. She is also helps mentor and connect people to opportunities. Kathy has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is currently a Process Engineer and Quality Manager at Altice USA.

Antonia Patterson
Volunteer
Antonia helps manage the LiWiT website by keeping events and posts up to date and assisting in creating new content. By day she is the social media and public relations manager for AriDeonne. She is also a freelance graphic/ web designer working mostly with small companies to help develop new products and establish a web presence for emerging brands.

Tiara Miller
Volunteer
Tiara is a perpetual learner and self-starter. She has coordinated large global events for IndieWeb, national events for Student Veterans of America and local tech events for Long Island Women in Tech and Long Island Tech Center. For LIWiT she’s helped manage various projects, update our website, and engage the community. She is currently seeking roles in cyber security to apply her MS degree along with her experience in Information Assurance.
